Job Summary
The Reservation Manager leads the reservations team to drive revenue, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. This role focuses on optimizing room sales, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate combines leadership, sales acumen, and a deep understanding of hospitality to deliver both financial and guest satisfaction goals.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Market Insight
- Identify and convert reservation sales opportunities to achieve revenue goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and demand forecasts to inform selling strategies.
- Monitor same-day selling procedures to maximize room yield and occupancy.
- Understand key customer segments and tailor solutions to meet their needs.
Reservations Operations
- Oversee the handling of all reservation inquiries with accuracy and efficiency.
- Apply negotiation and upselling techniques to optimize bookings and revenue.
- Coordinate with Sales and Convention Services on group bookings, rooming lists, and billing details.
- Manage reservation data integrity, waitlists, and no-shows.
- Generate reports, work orders, and operational documentation as required.
Customer Experience
- Ensure service excellence aligned with Sheraton and Marriott standards.
- Handle guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business.
- Lead by example in delivering warm, thoughtful, and efficient service.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, train, and motivate the reservations team to achieve departmental goals.
- Implement onboarding, coaching, and performance programs for staff development.
- Manage labor planning and monthly scheduling to optimize productivity.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED; no prior experience required.
OR - 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field; plus 2 years of experience in reservations, sales, or front office operations.
