Job Summary
The General Manager of Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City serves as the strategic business leader responsible for the overall hotel performance, guest experience, operational excellence, and financial outcomes. This role oversees all hotel departments, ensuring seamless operations aligned with Accor brand standards. The General Manager drives revenue through strong leadership in Sales, Marketing, and Distribution, while fostering a culture of service excellence and guest satisfaction. As the face of the hotel, the GM builds strong relationships with guests, employees, owners, and the wider community, ensuring the hotel remains a preferred destination for both business and leisure travelers. The position also includes developing leadership talent, optimizing operational efficiencies, and steering the property toward sustainable growth and market relevance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic leader overseeing all hotel operations, guest satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Ensure delivery of exceptional service that aligns with Accor brand values and guest expectations.
- Drive Sales, Marketing, and Distribution strategies to maximize occupancy, ADR, and market share.
- Lead the Voice of Guest program and ensure continuous improvement in guest satisfaction scores.
- Act as an Accor Ambassador to strengthen the hotel’s market reputation and community presence.
- Mentor, coach, and retain members of the executive committee and leadership teams.
- Develop departmental heads to foster innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking.
- Implement operational efficiencies and streamline processes to optimize cost and productivity.
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, corporate leaders, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and sustainability initiatives.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and profit maximization strategies.
- Lead change management initiatives and drive high-performance culture across teams.
Job Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in the hospitality industry with international brands.
- Minimum 2 years of proven success in a similar role (General Manager / Hotel Manager).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop long-term business plans and deliver results.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity and innovation in problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, revenue management, sales, and finance.
- Outstanding PR skills and ability to cultivate strong community and client relationships.
- Ability to drive cultural change and operational efficiencies across departments.
- A proactive, hands-on, and ownership-driven professional comfortable leading large teams.
- Strong sales background is an added advantage.
