Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading, managing, and elevating the complete HR function at Grand Hyatt Goa. This role drives strategic HR initiatives aligned with Hyatt International’s global framework while ensuring seamless operations, strong culture-building, and colleague well-being.

As a key business partner to the General Manager, you will serve as a strategic advisor, employee advocate, and cultural ambassador strengthening organizational effectiveness, service excellence, and workforce engagement across the property.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Leadership

  • Lead the Human Resources Division in alignment with Hyatt’s global HR strategy and brand values.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and ExCom to shape organizational culture and workforce planning.
  • Ensure HR initiatives support business goals, guest satisfaction, and owner expectations.

2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Oversee end-to-end hiring for all levels, ensuring recruitment of high-quality talent aligned with Hyatt values.
  • Enhance employer branding for both domestic and international hiring.
  • Develop strong onboarding programs that deliver an exceptional colleague experience.

3. Learning & Development

  • Implement Hyatt’s global learning philosophy through training and leadership development programs.
  • Identify skill gaps and create development plans for all departments.
  • Coach leaders on performance conversations, people development, and engagement practices.

4. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Foster an inclusive and empowering workplace based on Hyatt’s People Philosophy.
  • Lead recognition programs and well-being initiatives for colleagues.
  • Strengthen communication channels and cultivate a transparent, trust-driven culture.

5. Performance & Policy Management

  • Oversee performance management processes with fairness, consistency, and objectivity.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and Hyatt HR policies.
  • Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality.

6. HR Operations & Administration

  • Ensure smooth execution of HR operations such as payroll support, attendance, HRIS, and documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits and maintain strong administrative systems.

7. Health, Safety & Welfare

  • Work with department heads to implement safety, welfare, and statutory compliance initiatives.
  • Uphold workplace safety standards and enhance colleague well-being.

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in HRM, HRD, Hospitality, or Tourism Management.
  • Minimum 2 years as Director of HR or HR Manager in a large hospitality operation.
  • Strong administrative and managerial capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build positive culture and lead diverse teams.
