Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that all guest rooms, public areas, and facilities meet the highest quality and cleanliness standards of The St. Regis Mumbai. This role inspects rooms after cleaning, manages room status reports, coordinates with multiple departments, and supports daily housekeeping operations.

The supervisor acts as a liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to maintain smooth and efficient operations. Responsibilities include resolving room discrepancies, preparing daily assignments, communicating shift updates, and completing required documentation.

This role also assists management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating housekeeping associates.

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Quality Control

  • Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, pool areas, and facilities for cleanliness and service standards.
  • Run sold room reports, verify room status, identify discrepancies, and update departing room statuses.
  • Prioritize room cleaning based on occupancy and operational needs.
  • Coordinate effectively with Front Office to resolve room status issues.
  • Prepare and distribute room assignment sheets and shift updates.
  • Communicate operational issues to the next shift for seamless continuity.
  • Complete required checklists, logs, and paperwork.

Team Support & Leadership

  • Support management in hiring, onboarding, and training new associates.
  • Assist in scheduling, coaching, motivating, evaluating, and disciplining staff.
  • Ensure staff follow company policies, safety standards, and grooming guidelines.
  • Promote positive teamwork and maintain strong working relationships.

Guest Interaction & Service

  • Acknowledge and welcome guests according to St. Regis service standards.
  • Anticipate guest needs and address service requests promptly.
  • Assist guests with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.

Safety & Physical Requirements

  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Safely lift, move, and carry items up to 55 lbs (with assistance for heavier items).
  • Push/pull housekeeping carts and equipment across various surfaces.
  • Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
  • Use computers and systems to enter and verify work-related information.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Ensure adherence to brand quality and cleanliness standards at all times.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant housekeeping experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team-lead experience.
