As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth hotel operations, maintaining high guest service standards, and leading the front office team with professionalism and care. You will play a key role in guest satisfaction, revenue control, and operational coordination representing the Pullman brand’s signature blend of energy, elegance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily briefings and ensure seamless communication of key information to the front office team.
  • Supervise all front desk operations to ensure service excellence and adherence to departmental standards.
  • Review and optimize workflow, processes, and service standards to enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze rate variance reports, manage room revenue control, and approve discounts and rebates when appropriate.
  • Maintain open communication with the Front Office Manager regarding guest services and operational matters.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of guest-related issues using the Front Office logbook.
  • Oversee shift handovers to guarantee smooth transitions and consistent guest service.
  • Coordinate with all hotel departments to manage daily operations and resolve administrative issues effectively.
  • Provide visible management presence, assisting guests with needs and handling complaints tactfully.
  • Support Guest Relations with guest arrivals, rooming, and departures to ensure personalized service.
  • Conduct regular front- and back-of-house inspections for cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation.
  • Ensure staff are trained in marketing and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Verify billing instructions, monitor guest credits, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage full-house and overbooking situations, ensuring smooth relocation arrangements when necessary.
  • Oversee valet and driveway operations, ensuring efficiency and guest safety at all times.
  • Uphold hotel safety, security, and loss control policies, and act swiftly during emergencies.
  • Perform and oversee the Night Audit process to ensure accurate end-of-day reconciliation.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership with strong interpersonal and training skills.
  • Excellent communication and guest interaction abilities.
  • Results-driven and service-oriented, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a Front Office supervisory or Duty Manager role within a 4- or 5-star property preferred.
  • Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and MS Office.
